SUMMARY 
Drives truck with capacity under 3 tons to transport materials to and from specified destinations such as plants, offices, or within industrial yards by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Drives truck to destination.
  • Collects receipts from loads dumped at refuse station.
  • Maintains truck maintenance log.
  • Maintains telephone and radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
  • Loads and unloads truck.
  • Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None at this time.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

NECESSARY CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS
Valid Washington State driver’s license required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.  Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurements, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
