SUMMARY 
Directs financial activities of the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manages the accounting system, General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, and WIP report.
  • Establishes, or recommends to management, major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies for company.
  • Directs preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
  • Responsible for budget management, job costing, and cash flow.
  • Recommends modifications to existing corporate programs.
  • Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
  • Provides management with timely reviews of organization’s financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
  • Establishes and maintains relations with banks and other financial institutions.
  • Assist in managing and organizing facilities.
  • Assist with minor Human Resource responsibilities including benefits administration and payroll.
  • Responsible for staying current on accounting and SOX issues.
  • Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.
  • Responsible for fixed asset management.
  • Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions.
  • Arranges for audits of company’s accounts.
  • Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies including sales tax, B&O tax, and property tax.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES  None at this time.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from four year college or university in accounting.  CPA preferred.  A minimum of five years of private industry or public accounting experience.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to maintain positive working relationships with all levels of management.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or board of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
